Speaking of Keepers

Mudville Gazette does yeoman work in telling the forgotten story of the war on terrorism that was being waged long before most of us woke up to the fact. This pairs up nicely with Marc's recent post (below).

There's a ton of stuff in here I had forgotten about, or maybe never knew. Among the jaw-droppers is this:

"In America, we have a figure from history from 1897 named Teddy Roosevelt. He was a wealthy man, who grew up in a privileged situation and who fought on the front lines. He put together his own men - hand chose them - and went to battle. You are like the Middle East version of Teddy Roosevelt."

... which was addressed to Osama bin Laden by ABC News' John Miller.
