Europeans/Canadians are so much better than us." = safe consensus topic of conversation. It's the newsroom Christmas party, of course! Last night; we have them in the office, while working. But it means for a couple of hours the reporters and editors stop working and start talking. And, well, you can just imagine that. I spent the time in the library, reading. Even though I chipped in for the food, I don't think I could have kept it down.
