Good Wiki, Bad Wiki
After slagging Wikipedia on one matter, I ought to say I found it useful today, for its excellent brief overview of Intelligent Design, which except for a quibble over a word or two, I found very useful in helping guide a struggling reporter through the issue for an article she was writing.
It's a controversial topic. The article handled it well. It reports each side's view of the matter fairly. It is reporting a controversy, not advancing or creating one. The terseness of its statements was especially helpful.
But I know enough about the topic in the first place that I can tell whether this is a half-decent assessment of it or not. I still don't trust open source. Or, as some president used to say, "Trust. But verify."
