Mortem Obire
I enjoyed this little gem from Richard Lawrence Cohen. Perhaps you will, too.
It occurred to me years ago that, as the calendar cycles through its rounds, every 12 months we mark and celebrate a birth day. But every 12 months we pass in silent ignorance that other date, the one that will be the closing bracket on the tombstone's face. The date that, in the far future, after those who loved us are dead, likely will be one of the two things anyone bothers to remember about us, if anyone does.
