Speaking of the Nutmeg State
Dear reader, suppose you were a daily newspaper editor. And suppose you were a moron. But I repeat myself.
Suppose your city's central market had hired a new director. And suppose they had gone out-of-state to find him. And suppose he hailed from the old and noble Yankee commonwealth of Connecticut.
But you wanted to make big news out of this, and "Connecticut" is a big word and headline spaces is limited.
Would you have written, as the editor of my paper's rival did this morning, "Conn. man to head daily operations at Central Market"?
