The horrible Amish schoolhouse shooting you all read about this week is already falling off the front pages, chased by Foley e-mails and North Korean petty brinksmanship. But it's going to linger here, in this community, and with me, for a long long time.
I'm sorry I couldn't live-blog it. But it would have cost me my job in a heartbeat to do so.
The unanswerable question is "why." I think I have a rough explanation, but I'm not entirely sure. So this is a test of it. If what I think is right, the search of the killer's home and computer (if he had one) will turn up little or nothing in the way of pornography.
