Like a Movie

[posted by Callimachus]

The peasants rush the castle, torches and pitchforks in hand. Evil Doctor Dubya scurries frantically about the lab, trying to jerry-rig a defense out of the bug-eyed hunchback Rove and the jar that holds Condoleezza's brain.

But then as the peasants reach the narrow bridge over the ravine, out lurches Frankenstein's monster, stiff-limped and block-headed, and topples them like tenpins, halting the march.

Lord, Democrats, can't you do something about this man? Sure, sure, he's irrelevant to this election and the Bush minions are making way too much of a stupid remark when there are so many dire things going on. Yes, it reveals a despicable lot about the way Kerry and a lot of Democrats feel about the military, about old essential American ideals of service and patriotism. We knew all that about them before, though.

So do you really have to load the gun and put it in Michelle Malkin's hand and lift it up and lean your forehead against the barrel?

First mistake: Letting John Kerry try his hand at humor. Letting Chuck Barris formulate foreign policy probably would have been, in the long run, less damaging.

Welcome to American politics, 2006 edition: The president is a joke and the Democrats can't even tell it right.
