Thing that Make You Go ...

Gretchen Wilson dropped out of 9th grade in 1988 to work as a cook and bartender and sing in bar bands. In 2004, she hit it big in Nashville.

This year, four years into her run of success, she took the GEDs and got herself a high school diploma.

Wilson told The Tennessean that her 7-year-old daughter was the big reason to finally finish, saying, "I certainly don't want her to think you can be this successful without an education."

Um, good lesson, so long as the kid isn't very swift in math.
