Bad Words
Greg Sargent catches CNN clipping a Nancy Pelosi quote to make her say something rather different than what she said.
He's right, it looks like a lazy mistake or a cheap shot. It seriously undermines my confidence in whoever printed it.
Sargent ads,
Ah, well, that tells me he's spent the last five years or so on the anti-war/anti-administration side of the national scale. If you're on the other side, clipping off the end of a quote and changing its focus doesn't even rise to the level of a misdemeanor. How about adding in words that never were written to completely reverse the message of the text?
I would say that "outdoes."

Sargent ads,
I'm not sure anyone could outdo this one in terms of, shall we say, "creative" editing of quotes.
